Habit – every habit is created through repetition. If you get used to eating sweets every day or always after a meal, you will always have this craving. I have no problem eating a nutritious treat (like fruit or cocoa rich chocolate) every day. But if this habit is getting in the way of your results, try gradually tapering off or cutting back for a few days (each works differently) to change that pattern.
Nutritional deficiencies - the lack of some nutrients such as magnesium and chromium increase the craving for sweets. How about increasing your consumption of foods rich in these nutrients to see what happens? Cocoa powder, almonds, chickpeas and seeds are some sources.
Wrong diet – a diet rich in refined foods can cause imbalances in blood glucose levels, increasing the craving for sweets. Give preference to carbohydrates from the roots, which are nutritious and promote a gradual increase in glucose.
Low consumption of fat or protein – balance your meals so that you always have good sources of good fat (such as olive oil, avocado and nuts) and protein sources (fish, egg, quinoa, chickpeas), so your body will always be nourished and sated.
Anxiety – if you're eating sweets out of pure anxiety, it's high time to roll up your sleeve and work on this issue.
You restrict your diet too much – all excess is bad. And restriction often breeds compulsion. Learn the art of balancing and not just restricting. ❤️
